How we work
An independent site listing Finnish Lapland activities you can book direct. Not a tour operator, not a travel agent, and not affiliated with any of the operators listed here.
What this site is
A comparison site for tours in Finnish Lapland that are bookable on GetYourGuide and Viator. We list 24 of them across six categories, with the operators' own ratings, and we link you through to the operator's official listing to book.
We are not the operator for any tour here. We do not take your booking, hold your money, or run anything in Lapland. When something goes wrong with a tour, the operator and the booking platform are who you deal with, not us.
How the listings are verified
Both GetYourGuide and Viator block automated access, so nobody can simply scrape their pages and call it checked. Our approach:
- A first research pass finds real, currently-bookable listings in each category.
- A second, independent pass is given only the URL, never the first pass's figures, and reads the listing from scratch.
- A rating or review count is published only where both passes returned the same number.
Of the 24 tours here, 21 cleared that bar. Three did not, and they appear on the site with no rating and no review count at all rather than with a figure we cannot defend. One listing was dropped completely: real, but at 2.7 stars across three reviews it should not be recommended to anyone.
Ratings move. The figures here were correct when checked and the live number is always on the listing itself, which is where you should look before booking.
What we will not publish
Some of this is unusual to say out loud, so plainly:
- No invented prices. Where a tour's price only appears inside the booking flow, we say the live price is on the listing rather than printing a figure copied from somewhere else.
- No borrowed ratings. A number from a similar product, an aggregator, or a listicle never becomes this site's number.
- No fake first-person experience. We do not write "I stood at the Arctic Circle" unless a real named person on this site actually did.
- No unverified rules. Snowmobile licensing, minimum ages and dog-welfare regulation are consequential, and we could not confirm the Finnish rules against the regulator. So they are not stated here. You will find several such gaps on this site, each one deliberate and flagged.
Who writes it
Aino Korhonen
Aino is a Lapland local and the named specialist behind this site. Since 2023 she has helped international visitors plan trips across Finnish Lapland, from northern lights viewing and winter activities to reindeer and husky experiences and the swing between polar night and midnight sun. By her own count she has worked with more than 250 international travellers.
She knows the region's seasons and destinations in detail, and she plans around the part most itineraries get wrong: the logistics. Which month actually has the snow, how long a transfer really takes, how many nights the aurora needs, what an operator does and does not include.
On this site, Aino selects the listings, checks them against the operators' own pages, and writes the planning guidance. She does not operate, sell or run any of the tours listed here, and neither does this site. Those belong to Finnish operators who sell them through GetYourGuide and Viator.
Facts on this site are attributed to the operator's own listing or to a primary Finnish source: Visit Finland, Visit Rovaniemi, the Finnish Meteorological Institute, Traficom, the Reindeer Herders' Association or the Santa Claus Village information service. Where a claim rests on none of those, you will find us saying so.
How we make money
Affiliate commission. When you book through a link here, GetYourGuide or Viator pays us a share of their fee. It costs you nothing extra and the price is identical to going direct.
It does not change the ordering. Tours are ranked by review count within each category, the same for everyone, which is the closest honest proxy for booking volume the platforms publish. We do not accept payment for placement, and no operator has any say in what appears here. The full statement is on the affiliate disclosure page.
Not LaplandUK
Worth stating because the names collide: this site has nothing to do with LaplandUK, the Christmas attraction in Ascot, England. Everything here is Finnish Lapland, inside the Arctic Circle.
