Affiliate disclosure
This site earns commission from GetYourGuide and Viator. Here is exactly how that works and what it does and does not affect.
The short version
Many links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and book, GetYourGuide or Viator pays us a share of the fee they charge the operator. You pay exactly the same price as going to the listing directly. There is no surcharge, no markup, and no code you are missing out on.
Which links
Any link to getyourguide.com or viator.com is an affiliate link, including the buttons on tour cards, the "check live availability" buttons, and in-text links inside guides and blog posts. Links to Visit Finland, Visit Rovaniemi, the Finnish Meteorological Institute and other reference sources are not affiliate links and earn us nothing.
What commission does not change
This is the part that matters, so it is specific:
- Ordering. Tours are ranked by review count within each category. Same rule for every category, applied before any commission consideration. A tour does not move up for paying more.
- Inclusion. No operator paid to be listed and none can pay to be removed from a comparison that does not flatter them. We dropped a real listing for a 2.7-star rating; it would have earned the same commission as any other.
- What we say about them. Where a listing has a weakness, we write it. The aurora category page explains why its ratings run lower than the husky ones. The Santa Claus Village page opens by telling you entry and meeting Santa are free, which is not an obvious way to sell a tour.
Ratings and figures
Ratings and review counts are GetYourGuide's and Viator's own published figures, recorded when we checked them, and only published where two independent checks agreed. They move over time. The live figure is on the listing. Full method on the how we work page.
Why disclose at all
Because the US Federal Trade Commission requires a clear disclosure of material connections, and because you deserve to know what a recommendation is worth to the person making it. The disclosure appears in the footer of every page on this site, not only here.
Who we are not
We are not a tour operator, a travel agent, or a package holiday provider. We do not hold your money or your booking, and we provide no financial protection, which a UK package holiday would. When you book, your contract is with the operator through GetYourGuide or Viator.
