The Links And What You Pay
Every tour we list links out to its listing on GetYourGuide or Viator. If the link is an affiliate link and you book, the platform pays us a percentage. You pay the same price whether you arrive through our link or type the platform's address yourself. The operator, the guide and the thermal overalls are identical either way.
Which Links Are Affiliate Links
Links pointing to getyourguide.com and viator.com are affiliate links. That includes the "Book This Tour" buttons and occasional in-text links. Internal links between pages of this site are not. Nothing is an affiliate link to a hotel, airline or anything else, because we list nothing else.
What Commission Does Not Change
Commission has no effect on what we list or how we rank it. Within each category, from husky sledding to Santa Claus Village tours, ordering is by review count. Inclusion is not for sale either. We also say what a listing's weaknesses are: an aurora tour that cannot promise sightings, a snowmobile safari where the driver is liable for damage, a multi-day package with no accommodation included. One listing was dropped entirely for showing 2.7 stars across three reviews. A tour that pays well but reads badly does not get a pass.
How Ratings And Figures Work
Ratings and review counts come from the platforms. GetYourGuide and Viator block automated access, so every figure here was checked by hand in two independent research passes, and a rating is printed only where both passes agreed. Three tours show no rating at all, so we say so instead of guessing. Ratings move as reviews come in, so the number on the live listing is always the authoritative one. Why We Disclose
United States Federal Trade Commission rules require anyone who earns from affiliate links to say so clearly and unprompted. We think that is the right rule regardless of jurisdiction. You are choosing between a $166 husky ride in Levi and a $2,109 snowmobile expedition, so you deserve to know who gets paid where.
What We Are Not
We are not a tour operator and not a travel agent. We never take a booking, hold no money and run no sleds. When you book, your contract is with the activity operator, arranged through GetYourGuide or Viator, and their cancellation terms apply, typically free cancellation up to 24 hours ahead. That is different from a UK package holiday, which carries financial protection if the operator collapses. These are individual activities booked separately, and there is no rep on the ground to rebook your aurora night when a storm rolls in.
